Dr. Carl Flatley, founder of the Sepsis 
Alliance<http://www.sepsisalliance.org/>, sent a note requesting that 
information be posted on the Surviving Sepsis Campaign list serv regarding 
testimony that will occur at the US Senate on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 
10:00 am at the Dirksen Senate Office Building, The Staunton family (Orlaith 
and Ciaran Staunton) has been invited by Senate Health Committee Chairperson 
Senator Harkin and the ranking member Senator Alexander to share their story 
about their son Rory who died from sepsis at the age of 12 in April, 2012. The 
event is a full Senate Health Committee Hearing to explore the impact of sepsis 
and national efforts to provide earlier screening and intervention. This is an 
open session to anyone who wishes to attend and support the process of raising
