Not sure there is good data on "large amounts" of LR but the following should help your cause. Sorry they wouldn't come as PDF files. If they don't come up they are all in Critical Care Medicine 1997 25(11) in order as parts 1,2, and 3.
In short, at least ,my take on the data, if you don't draw the sample via the catheter that has been infusing lactate, and if the sample was handled properly, then LR should not impact your lactate result - at least one liter of it anyway. Again, not aware of any data with large volumes of LR. http://ovidsp.ovid.com/ovidweb.cgi?T=JS&CSC=Y&NEWS=N&PAGE=fulltext&AN=00003246-199711000-00022&D=ovft&PDF=y http://ovidsp.ovid.com/ovidweb.cgi?T=JS&CSC=Y&NEWS=N&PAGE=fulltext&AN=00003246-199711000-00023&D=ovft&PDF=y http://ovidsp.ovid.com/ovidweb.cgi?T=JS&CSC=Y&NEWS=N&PAGE=fulltext&AN=00003246-199711000-00024&D=ovft&PDF=y Lee Lee A. Is there any issue with altering serum lactate levels when using large amounts of LR for fluid?
