The answer is yes. Normal-tensive severe sepsis with a lactate ≥ 4.0 mmol/dL qualify for the 3 and 6 hour bundles. This is severe sepsis with hypoperfusion as is the hypotensive patient that responds to the initial fluid load. Patients who require pressors despite initial fluid load are classified as septic shock per current definitions of progression.
