Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Sepsis Groups] BNP

Does anyone have an article about BNP in the septic patient? We had a
patient that presented to the ED with s/s of septic shock but because the
BNP was elevated the patient was treated for CHF and instead of
administering fluids, she was giving furosemide. When the ECHO was done,
the patient had 60-65% EF and Xray was clear. BNP can be a marker for
septic shock, as well as, CHF. Anyone have any information on this?

Thanks!
