Jeremy-

I tried the valid connection test that was failing and it is working now.  The 
changes you made to the connect method must of fixed my problem.  I'm not sure 
how, but you can take the cspecify off that test.  I tested 1.8.7, 1.9.3 and 
2.0.0.
