Hi,
I'd like to know if it is possible specify the default
tablespace for the backend and for the recovery log
databases in the Sequoia system. It would be fine if
we could specify this databases in different
tablespaces to use different "partitions" to store the
main data and recovery log data.
I think it is possible to define a tablespace for a
backend and to keep this information in the dump, but
about the reclog database I don't see how.
I use PostgreSQL as backend and it seems that we can
use the -D or --tablespace options to choose the
default tablespace properly (createdb). I think
DatabaseBackend and RecoveryLog elements would be good
places.
I'm asking about this issue because it would be
pratical some resizes of "partitions" using LVM. I've
got another doubt about performance that is not a
specific Sequoia issue: would separate reclog and
backend into different disks improve writing
performance?
Thanks in advance,
Bruno
