Hi,

There is only one network adapter per machine and IP addresses are static.
Both box are in the same Active Directory domain. A WINS server is configured,
but I do not use any host name in the config files - only IP addresses.

What seems strange to me is that, when using JGroups, the controllers look like
they have at least some sort of communication as they detect that a new
controller is added to the group and try to check VDB config with each other.
When I kill controller #2, controller #1 will resume and go back to "ready,
listening to requests" (the same happens with controller #2 if I kill
controller #1). But, I do not have the full understanding of the inner workings
of the controllers: communication might happen at different levels through
different channels, some working, some other blocked.

Cheers,
Lionel

Do you have multiple network adapters on your machines?
Are your IP addresses assigned by DHCP or statically?
Are you using a Directory Server, a WINS server or some other Windows
specific resolution mechanism?

Thanks for your feedback,
Emmanuel
