I'm new to JMX and need to get status from Sequoia in our app. For the first
rollout, all I need to know is when one of the backends has any kind of
problem. Is there any developer documentation that covers how to interface
with JMX, like the console does? I seem to remember seeing something about it
in one of the Sequoia docs, but now I can't find it. I've looked through the
source, but I'm not sure what I need to be looking at because I'm just learning
JMX.

How hard is it to create a client to listen for messages that tell me if
there's a problem with a backend?
