Jonathan,
You should probably just re-use
org.continuent.sequoia.console.jmx.RmiJmxClient for the JMX client code.
org.continuent.sequoia.console.text.commands.dbadmin.ShowBackend is what
is used by the console to display the status of the backends. Reusing
the code there should get you quickly on the right path.
Hope this helps,
Emmanuel
I’m new to JMX and need to get status from Sequoia in our app. For the
first rollout, all I need to know is when one of the backends has any
kind of problem. Is there any developer documentation that covers how
to interface with JMX, like the console does? I seem to remember
seeing something about it in one of the Sequoia docs, but now I can’t
find it. I’ve looked through the source, but I’m not sure what I need
to be looking at because I’m just learning JMX.
How hard is it to create a client to listen for messages that tell me
if there’s a problem with a backend?
