I have been watching James's progress for
the last 3 years now, hoping for IMAP
support ( I can't use James without it )
and this seems like the only way IMAP is
going to ever get into main branch. IMAP
support has been 'coming soon' for at
least those 3 years I've known of James.
Exactly the same boat :).

Currently, I am looking at pulling the
IMAP code out of Foedus
and maybe integrating with MINA and using
that as a base for a simple IMAP only
server. Alternatively, we can work
together.
It seems hoever that Foedus is abandonware, and
the CVS was also not working.

Having IMAP locked away in its own
branch secludes the effort from the rest
of the project and I think that's at
least partly why it hasn't been done
yet.
Totally agree.

That, and the fact that there
hasn't been an *authorative* detailed
plan on how to get that subproject
completed.
When users ask about such plans, the standard answer is to 'read the mail archive' :). Clear sign that there's no *authorative* at all :).

Ahmed.
