Can you post the bounce message ? I also suggest upgrading to james 2.3.0. I don't think this will fix your issue but 2.3.0 is really more stable. > Reverse DNS Lookup Fails for Virtual Accounts > --------------------------------------------- > > Key: JAMES-746 > URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-746 > Project: James > Issue Type: Bug > Components: James Core > Affects Versions: 2.2.0 > Environment: Linux, Java 5 > Reporter: Ant Kutschera > > My server runs multiple domains. I use the JDBC Virtual Host mailet. > Everything normally works fine, but if the user sends email to AOL or other > picky domains, the mails bounce, and it complains rDNS is not set correctly. > Searching on sites like www.dnsstuff.com I am sure that the reverse DNS is > configured properly. It seems that AOL looks at the server name given in the > protocol, as opposed to the "from" address, and does a reverse lookup and > compares to that name. But that name is taken from the server name, not the > virtual account name, so at best I can get one domain to work if I give the > server the same name as that one domain. > James should be putting the domain name from the users account into the > protocol, not the server name, if it truly supports virtual hosting. > Cheers, > Ant -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
