I saw, thats fine, I'm not criticising you, just making the point that we could probably all do without re-running the Maven vs Ant debate, and particularly not with adding it to this discussion.
And note that our website is build using maven2, so if we change the whole structure and we want to keep creating the website that way we'll have to update the maven2 stuff (pom.xml) anyway

Not difficult to do if thats what we want. And Maven *might* be useful if we're thinking of distributing James in a variety of ways, the dependance management could be extremely convenient. But it might be too confusing to try to refactor at the same time as we change the whole build process.
