stefano - you misunderstand the difference between the PPMCer and
member role. henri has posted a good diagam here:

this is an issue for JAMES and the JAMES PPMC not the membership.
you're on the PPMC and have every right to push this issue forward.
you are absolutely entitled to repeatedly post on committee lists
until someone gives you an answer. if the committees aren't listening
after a reasonable attempt to raise the visibility of the issue then
you should ask the board to look into it for you.

Thank you for the procedure explanation (I think I understood what is a PMC member and what is an ASF member.. and I think that a member has a real legal role inside the ASF while a PMC member only has a role given by the ASF itself and not by the law. That's why I say that a member would be taken in better consideration. I don't know specific US laws, but I know how foundations works here).

BTW, what are the "committee lists" ? [EMAIL PROTECTED] ? [EMAIL PROTECTED] ? legal-discuss ? repository ?
