I'm using 2.2.0a12 for my 15 users and it's working great. The mail server are running on a SuSE 8.2 box, together with other kinds of server daemons (mysql, firebird-db, apache, cvs, samba...)
As I said it's working great but I'm a little worried about memory usage. For example when I fetchmail a multi megabyte mail, the memory usage explodes and stays high.
I've added the -Xloggc:<xxx> option to get a log from the Garbage Collector.
With GCViewer (http://www.tagtraum.com/gcviewer.html) I've analyzed the log and it shows what I expected: When handling a multi megabyte mail the memory usage explodes and stays high at least for a very long time.
Is there something we could about this?
When handling a mail, could the body of the mail be stored in a temporary file instead of allocating space for the hole mail?
