One of my early tests used <mailet match="All" class="Null"/>

How are you measuring this? I don't give James anything like that amount of
memory. Also, once the JVM takes memory from the system, it may not give
memory back. Heaps rarely shrink.
I am not aware of any memory leaks in SMTP, POP3, the spooler, or most
matchers and mailets.
