Any ETA on fast fail? I just looked at SMTPHandler.java and saw that it wouldn't be too difficult as far as that goes, but the SpoolManager is another thing (Synchronized decisions wouldn't require a spool).
Not really. We were just discussing how to script mailet configuration on the dev list, and whatever we come up for this will likely get incorporated into the SMTP handler.
In the meantime, you could hack your adds to SMTPHandler yourself. Like you say, it's not that difficult.
