Hi Mark,

It's on your mail server.

Had the same problem some days ago. After changing the name for HELO to the fully quallified hostname of my mailserver (e.g. mail.myserver.com), I was able to send emails to the server that rejected them before.

Hope that helps

Michael

All,

When I send an email to a recipient from james, I get an error message
as shown below. The offending line is:

504 5.5.2 <[server name omitted]>: Helo command rejected: need
fully-qualified hostname

Does anyone know if the HELO error is on my mail server or on the
recipient's server?

Mark
