Have you created a .cab (for IE browsers) and an uncompressed zip (for
Netscape browsers) and then set up the relevant attributes ni the applet
tag?

Even though the uncompressed zip is the same size it makes downloading a lot
quicker when you have more than one class file because it only needs to make
a single connection to grab the lot.

Later Netscape browsers may even support compressed zips (?) but I don't
know. You then end up with compatibility issues with older Netscape
browsers.
