While I mainly use Kawa for its project management ability, I would most certainly agree with the comments on Textpad. I learned Java using Textpad and feel it is one of the best programming editors I have ever used. I have Textpad set as my default application for most of my text related documents; event logs, .ini and .properties files, etc.. I have helped a couple of people here at work get started in Java. I normally suggest they start out with Textpad as a quick and easy way to run the example programs and "really" learn the language before getting caught up in an IDE. -----Original Message----- From: patrick j. lynch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Wednesday, May 05, 1999 6:40 PM Subject: Re: Good Editor >I've also been using Textpad -- I prefer using it to Symatec...It cost $27. >See ya, >Pat > >Simon Christian wrote: > >> I'd have to agree with you there Jere; I've been using Textpad for 3 years now >> and it beats any IDE I've ever tried by far for sheer ease of programming.
