Also, if the servlet engine runs under Unix enviroment, there is the
possibility to spawn a native process like 'sendmail' or 'qmail-inject'
which localy transfers a mail to the systems MTA. In the same enviroment,
if you need to do some headers formating (if you don't want to do that by
your self within your servlet) you can use a mail-formater like 'formail'.

Althought this is a workable solution, unfortunatelly you need a unix
machine and therefore using the JavaMail API, as Robert proposed, it's a
better solution.

About the port 25 connection.... hmmm... you have to get familiar with the
SMTP protocol... and if you're about to send mail attachments then also you
have to learn MIME/1.0
