Not 100% sure but:
1. The latest NES, 4.0 (or whatever minor revision they're up to), has
improved servlet support (NES 3.X only supported 1.0 or so). But it
might only be 2.0, not 2.1. But it sounds like they've made a
commitment to keep servlet support more current than they have been.
2. I believe JWS does.
3. Some might argue that JServ is tightly coupled enough with Apache
that you can consider that it does.
Of course, there have been a lot of changes lately in servlet and web
server areas (e.g the AOL/Netscape/Sun combination, the Sun/Apache
Jakarta combination), so the above may no longer be accurate, and
future directions hard to predict (e.g. the continued existence of JWS
seems unclear).
Perhaps others have more recent/accurate information.
