There are a lot others (i guess!!), but from my knowledge i can list atleast
one more, which is as follows :

The Applet code gets executed at the browser end. This means the applet code
has to be transferred over the network to the requesting client (this
explains the delay in loading of an applet based web page)
however, the Servlet runs (gets executed) at the Server and only the browser
understandable HTML code is transferred over to the requesting client,
thereby making it appear faster.

The advantage is that, servlet based pages do not require a fat client as
the applet does.
