If you can't replace sendmail on your
mailserver , your next best option is
probably to add an alias in /etc/aliases :
ack-email-addr: |/wherever/bin/ack

This will run ack once for every email
with the email on stdin.

Ack can be a java program, or what
ever you choose.

If you want to stick with using a
servlet to do the real work, then
make ack a perl (or tcl/scotty)
script that reads stdin, parses it
and does a http post to your
servlet.
