Prasad:

I think what you're looking for is the type being returned to the document.
If it's something the browser knows how to display, it will display it. If
you set it to something else, such as "application/unknown", your browser
will ask if you want to save the file.

An example is in the "Download" servlet, part of Expresso, you can get the
source at our site http://www.javacorporate.com - it may be a useful example
for you.

Subject: Link in HTML

Hai,

My Servlet is generating an ascii file on the server (say test.csv) and
returing a page with link to that file.
What is intended is that when the user clicks on that link (which actually
points correctly at the file 'test.csv'), the browser should pop up a File
Save Dialog box.
But what is happening is the contents of the file are getting displayed in
the browser instead of a File Save Dialog box.

Any help is appreciated.
