With all the recent discussion here about "thread safety",
I am re-examining my own understanding. Are sessions linked
to threads or not? In other words, since the session contents are
volatile, does one need to synchronize the code:
HttpSession session = req.getSession(true);
synchronized(session) {
session.putValue("started", true);
}
