        Are you talking about renting just the box or the connectivity? (The
skynetweb site is down at present - not a good sign.) In the UK, bandwidth
is extremely expensive, so finding an ISP somewhere who's willing to offer
servlet deployment is a much better bet. (I came across www.media3.com who
offer a $20-ish-per-month "UNIX" account which I'm tempted by, but it's not
clear what admin. access is provided, or how they administer the non-safe
services they offer like server-side Perl.)

        There must be a market opportunity for robust, well-supported
servlet hosting. If we believe that the Java security model truly is robust,
then there's nothing more contentious with offering servlets than offering
free web space. (Well, maybe CPU resources...)
