We are running a large network of Windows NT 4.0 sp5 machines with Sun's
JRE 1.1.8 and JWS 1.1.3 and have been very pleased with the performance and
stability. Sun's JVM definitely does support native threads and multiple
processors and has for as long as I can remember.

Subject: Re: hosting servlets on an NT
Server fitted with multiple processors
We are looking at deployment issues for our Java
Servlet and tying to figure out sizing of the web server. For various
reasons we need to use NT Server 4.0. I take it that
stability wasn't one of those reasons >:-).
Does anyone have information on how well the Sun
Java Virtual Machine works on an NT Server fitted with multiple
processors ? I don't know if Sun's JVM (esp. 1.1.6) uses native
threads. I would recommend using Microsoft's, or better yet, IBM's.
