All interfaces in javax.servlet.* and subpackages must be implemented by the
servlet container (container is just the new term for "engine" in 2.2 to align
with J2EE). The session IDs are created by the container as well, as part of
the internal implementation.

I suggest you read the Servlet 2.2 spec. It describes what a compliant servlet
