As I understand, the servlets init() method will be called only the first
time around, when the servlet engine loads the servlet and gives you an
opportunity to do any (one time) initialization. After that any invocations
of the servlet will not cause the init() method to be called.
The same thing will happen anytime the servlet engine needs to reload the
servlet for any reason.
I dont think it matters which client you are using to access the servlet
engine.
