Hi,
(Please note there is some problem with
my email right now, so you might see multiple copies of some lines in this
message.)

You need to download the JavaMail API,
and the Java Activation Framework (JAF).
Look under the Products and API's
link on the main java.sun.com page.
JAF is a prerequisite for JavaMail.
(As per what I've read - haven't used
it myself yet) JavaMail is a pretty
comprehensive API for email-related development -
you can definitely build an MUA (mail client), with support
for multiple MIME types (attachments) and may be
able to build an MTA (mail server) as well.
You will also need the RFCs for the protocols
you want to use - POP/SMTP/IMAP etc.
Do a Web search for "RFC" - there are many
places that have this info. HTH

Hi,
What are the things(componnents) that I should Download(from
www.javasoft.com) to send mail as well as to pop mail from the mail server(I
have to do both the tasks) and let me know the
exact url as well.Is it only javamail api or should I download any other
stuff as well.
What is the Advantage of using JavaMail API rather than raw socket
communication.
