The advantage of JSP is that you can use the resulting Servlet to simply
display data. Period. No business logic at all. Your business logic can
reside in other layers. Other Servlets, JavaBeans, EJBs, etc.. Also the
syntax for extracting data to generate dynamic, data driven html pages
requires little or no knowledge of the Java language. This means that your
creative/cognitive people can work on screen flow/layout while your Java
developers can start modelling the objects that will perform the business
logic needed to provide the data to the screen. Furthermore you can use
your html prototypes instead of throwing them away.
IMHOP... todays greatest web architecture (flexible, extensible, just plain
awesome!)
