Make sure the mail.jar file is in the classpath of your servlet engine or webserver. If you're using JWS you can put it in $server_home/classes and it should be able to find it without a restart. The 404 occurs because it's probably trying to init() the servlet but failing when it can't import javax.mail.*, hence you're accessing something that doesn't exist (a non-running servlet). Cheers! Ian | MIME-Version: 1.0 | From: "G.Betul Akin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | Subject: [SERVLET-INTEREST] pop3 servlet problem with Apache and JServ | To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | I have downloaded and JavaMail package with pop3 provider and JAF from Suns | site. I tested it with the given msgshow example and it is working ok. But | when I try to write a servlet to get mail from a POP3 server, it gives HTTP | 404 not found error. But if I cut the code that tries to open a session and | so on it can find the servlet. It seems very srange. I mea if there is | something wrong with the code inside I should have gotten an exception or | something. | I searched the archives for it and saw some other people met the same | problem before. I tried but the replies to those suggested, but to no avail. | I wonder if it's something related to my installation. But I can run any | other servlet, only this pop3 application does not work. I would be grateful | if anoyone could help. | | -----Original Message----- | From: Miguel Angel Fernandez [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] | Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 1998 7:53 PM | To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Subject: Jrun and IIS | | Hi all, I'm working with Jrun2.3 and IIS3.0, the JRun | samples servlets work but when I test my servlets | (placed in the same directory that samples) I get this | error message "500 Internal Server Error MyServlet | Could not load servlet" | Any idea? | Thanks in advance****************************** | Miguel Angel Fernandez | Java Developer | UNION FENOSA - ISF | Phone: (34) 656 404 806 | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | ****************************** | | | ___________________________________________________________________________ | To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in | the body | of the message "signoff SERVLET-INTEREST". | | Archives: | http://archives.java.sun.com/archives/servlet-interest.html | Resources: | http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/external-resources.html | LISTSERV Help: http://www.lsoft.com/manuals/user/user.html | | ___________________________________________________________________________ | To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body | of the message "signoff SERVLET-INTEREST". | | Archives: http://archives.java.sun.com/archives/servlet-interest.html | Resources: http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/external-resources.html | LISTSERV Help: http://www.lsoft.com/manuals/user/user.html ______ /_____/\ /____ \\ \ Ian R.
