Title: Compiling Servlet on Windows 98 machine
You'll need to download jsdk2.0 or 2.1 to compile servlets and after downloading set the classpath to  c:\jsdk2.1\src\ if you extract it at the root of c drive

Subject: Compiling Servlet on Windows 98 machine

Hi all,

I need to get up to speed on Java at work and seem to be getting my fair share worth of bruises as I try to get up to speed.

I am trying to double my efforts by configuring my home machine so that I can develop there also. Although I have gone through the same motions of downloading the SDK, JDK, and the JSWDK, I cannot seem to compile a simple 'HelloWorld' servlet. (I am able to compile the same servlet at work). The best I can tell is that I need to add something to my class path in the 'Autoexec.bat' file, but I don't know what.

I am at work right now, so I cannot share my exact class path, but, from memory, I know I include at least the following:

C:\jdk1.2.2\lib\tools.jar;C:\javamail-1.1.2\mail.jar;C:\jaf-1.0.1\activation.jar;

The error has something to do with not being able to find javax files related to the HttpServlet. Can anyone lend any insight into a possible solution, or do I need to provide more info first??

MOS
