But what harm does it do to add the [], it won't stress the server too much,
for example the Microsoft list servers do this, and they're far busier than
this list. And I do have an intelligent mail reader with message filters
that I use to group my messages under different folders - it's just easier
if I have a 'standard' piece of text to sort on. And many people don't have
mail readers that do this so it would help them a great deal,

But this would also put even more load on the already overloaded
listserver.

I don't see what benefit it gives you having this word appeneded to
all messages from the list?

If you want to filter them on a list wide basis you can do so by the
from-address


As Craig, myself and others have pointed out - there are established
rules, if people would just follow them we'd all get along ok
(actually I think we get along all right now, as it happens).
