You can change your browsers settings to disable Javascript and VB SCript on
both MS and Netscape browsers.  This is a nice feature in that you may not
want all those popup windows when you visit sites AND there's been a few
security problems on MS browsers while using Javascript.

You should look at the properties sections of each browser and hunt down the
appropriate flag.  I'm sure other browsers that handle scripting can be
turned off in similar fashion.  It's just not wise to necessarily assume
that someone has Javascript turned on.  Nor is it a good assumption to
assume that someone has cookies enabled - for that matter.
