OK you actually have two questions:
- what is the best web server from your standpoint
taking into account your platform, ssl support
etc.
- what is the best solution for your server's
interactive functionality, thst is, what is the
best CGI framework for you.
Answers to the first question may be easily found in
many publications.
The second is more difficult to answer as it heavily
depends on applications you intend to have and needs
detailed analysis. Particularly it depends on skilled
developers available (this is the must), off-shelf
components availability (both free and commercial),
required performance/scalability and maintainability
and (generally in the last place) portability.
Often it's expedient to hire a smart perl hacker to
quiclkly implement some interactivity. When it comes
to scalability and maintainability you most probably
choose java/servlet engine.
It depends.
