Go look at AltaVista. I think their indexing and searching
toolkits may be used - some of them free - you can check
www.altavista-software.com. At least there are some
fundamentals outlined.

Hi list,
We are developing an intranet site that needs a search engine. From whatever
I could gather from surfing on the net it seems most of the search engines
are built using CGI scripts (mostly PERL). Are there any good java based
solutions that i can model my search engine on. Does any tutorual/book cover
the fundas of building one? Any pointers are welcome!!
Thanks k Regards
