Hi,

I've got Multiple Servlets on my site .... each doing a specific job,
like the first does a user login and authentication, and then REDIRECTS the
user to other servlets depending on
1. the user and
2. his choice ( mostly a link on the page) ....
so each page rendered by the servlet is user specific.

Now I would like to know,
1. How do I let the servlets pass the
------ "user information + additional information of the option selected
by the user(a number)" ------
   to other servlets,
This additional information is a number needed to be passed from a table
shown on the page, which will determine the data on the next page.

2. How do I ensure that he's not faking the -- user name/ number -- as he
could save it and send it in a recreated page ....
that is track the user / page ...
some session id which I give to him on the "login page" after
authentication and he carries it through to other servlets... and

3. How do I time-out the user for all the pages/servlets if he's inactive
for a period of time...
say an hour ... because the info he's looking at has become stale and
the
links might not hold true, so he needs to start all over again

Constraints
1. I don't want to use cookies,
2. the server might not support urlencoding !!

Hope I made myself understood ... and didn't bore you either ?
SOS,

Yogesh More
