Footnotes is not the way to go. The bugs change way too often to record
them in hard copy -- plus you just know all bugs mentioned in footnotes
would immediately be fixed, so the footnotes would do no more than
encourage people to fix their bugs. Maybe that's good? :-) A better
solution would be a "bug bulletin board" on Servlets.com where people
could post confirmed bugs in implementations that affect servlet
developers. I've added it to my "futures" list for the site. If anyone
wants to write that webapp, feel free and I'll install it. (I just love
pluggable webapps.)

Even better, all SSI syntax has been removed from the 2nd edition.
Plenty of more standard alternatives these days to talk about.
