I did figure a separate compile would solve the prob, and it then worked fine.

Now having problems with 3rd party jar files and JDK 1.3. I tried an experiment
of using jdk 1.2 with Tomcat 3.1 and my 3rd party jar file, and all is well.

Too bad. Perhaps I should get involved in the development of JDK 1.3, since it
has alot of nice additions I'd like to be using now.

Also, the javac element in build.xml works fine under JDK 1.2. I only had to
point to the file tools.jar in the JDK 1.2 package to get it to
compile....hmmmm, wonder if it will operate properly in jdk 1.3 if I include
the tools.jar file in the classpath....better try before I forget!
