I am currently working on an webcam application using Servlets and Swing Applets. The servlet starts after a request from the applet a thread that writes a .jpg file to a directory under the root of the Javawebserver. Then the applet comes to fetch this image file by simple Url-connection. Now what is strange is the fact that this works nice using appletviewer, but not using the plugin with a standard browser, using a browser with plugin the image is never updated. It seems the Applet is reading a cached version of the image file but on the server side. Pushing the reload button in netscape navigator seems to free the cache, because afterwords the applet as well displays the actual image file. (strange enough with IE this doesn't work) As by accesing the image file on the webserver the servlet does not seem to handle this request but the javawebserver. So I wonder how I can turn of caching for the javawebserver. Another solution would be to periodically send the same command which sends Netscape browser, when you push the reload button. What does this command look like? Any help appreciated thanks in advance Christian Faubel -- /*************************************************************/ $B%U%!%&%Y%k!!%/%j%9!!;0MNEE5!
