Thank you for the advice. The Option in the Browser doesn't help, because the image file seems to be cached on the server side. I have done a simple test: I start the thread in the servlet which is doing the image capture and writing of the jpg file. I access this file from lets say computer a with a browser: http://mycomputer:8080/image.jpg, i access it again after the time expired for updating the image from the servlet, still I see the first image token. Then I acces the image file from let's say computer b and push the relaod button. Afterwards I acces the same address from computer a by just typing the address again and I see the updated image. More ideas? thanks in advance Christian Faubel "Kumar, Ashutosh(sdc)" wrote: > There is always an option in Browser to refresh the cache and delete the > files. from there you can do this. > > ashu > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Christian Faubel [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > Sent: Wednesday, August 02, 2000 8:04 AM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: confusion about caching, need some advice > > > > I am currently working on an webcam application using Servlets and Swing > > Applets.
