Generally, if you are putting anything in Tomcat then it seeks to find the
docbase relative to weapps folder.But you can change the docbase to absolute
path like "Path_to_your_Project_Home\project".
check and share your experience

Subject: environment variable

I'm distributing a servlet, and the servlet needs to know where it is
located.

Ideally, I would like it to get it by setting an environment variable
ie
PROJECT_HOME="/home/project"
export PROJECT_HOME

and then for the program to be able to read this.
I heard somewhere that it is not possible, but i've noticed that tomcat does
it, so if anyone can help me with this topic, that would be great.

Thanks
Rob
