Subject: [SERVLET-INTEREST] A stupid question needing Intelligent ans.
Ok, guys, I know this is a stupid question, please do not go for my
throat. I need some help and direction. If you are unable or too busy
just ignore this.
I have been reading the IBM site, this list's archives and even
looking in egroups (now yahoo groups). My company is
installingWebSphere on their OS390 next month. I am suppose to teach
myself and then others how to use WebSphere to create an web based audit
system for software installs on mainframes. We will be accessing DB2
to get the information.
After reading all that I can find I am a little confused. Here is
the stupid question...what is WebSphere? Is it a webserver like IIS?
Is it a software bundle and IIS (or some other webserver) is still
needed? There seemed to be a lot of conflicting definitions even with
in this list's archives. Your help is appreciated
