you have to start the servlet engine up with a larger max memory
setting.
For example,
java -mx164 ClassName
For the jdk1.3 the syntax is
java -Xmx164 ClassName
You may want to look at the ms setting as well. These are documented at
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/tooldocs/tools.html

OutOfMemoryExceptions would be thrown when the operating system can

I did not see another Sun mailing list just for the JVM.
The JVM spec says the exception will be thrown if no memory can be
allocated
on the stack or the heap. Perhaps these structures start out with a
pre-defined size on start-up. If somebody knows of a good book on the
JVM,
would like to hear it.
