our regularly sponsored programming. . . .
Stephen we'd all like to be right . . .
Hmmm - not quite sure and at this point I won't be able to find out
because I am no longer with the company where I had this problem. Not
sure which version of Oracle 8i we were using <shrug> and I almost
always use the thin driver. But this I do know everyone had that
particular issue.
The problem as I see it would be determing what the exact cause would
be like chasing a needle in a haystack. Can't say it was my IDE
because I don't use one, was it the JSP to servlet to the whatever and
something being lost? A database issue? The only character I have ever
had an issue with is that <edit> single quote and as far as the
prepared statement I find that I am usually using it.
Are you using a Connection pool? What app server are you using? The
problem your having with the prepared statement doesn't sound
right . . . have you tried something like ?
try{
ps.close( );//close the statment
conn.closeConnection( );//close connection
}catch . . .. {
When I get more time I'll take another look at the single quote thing,
but for now - my lesson for the day - keep an open mind :-)
