Hi,
I am planning to develop an IMAP4 mail server. For this
I intend to use Servlets. As IMAP4 mailservers are required to
listen on port number 143, I would need my servlet to listen in that
port (143).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Raga

Hi All,
Can servlets be configured to listen to any user-defined port

### No ... port etc., are web server configs and servlet is a component
running in the servlet container.

   or
is it neccessary that
they should listen to that port which the web server listens at ?
Can we develop mail server components using Servlets???

### What do you mean by mail server components ? I mean what kind of
stuff
are you looking for ?

Regards
Raga
