What you want to do is to instruct the HTML client to do something that is
basically beyond the scope of HTML. The footer is not part of the code you
send. It is generated by the client. So you have to use some client specific
command to prevent it to be printed. If you do not want to do so, you should
switch to another client technology that allows printing (HTML does not.
That's why you have to use client specific commands). You can use PDF, which
is probably the best for printing. You can use applets (not the easiest for
printing) or you can use Flash (probably the easiest, but can be very slow
at printing). All these technologies allow you to print the page without the
client adding anything. With applets or Flash, you can even print something
different than what is displayed. And all these technologies can be used to
display and print forms.
