Since your questions have nothing to do with servlets,
SERVLET-INTEREST really isn't the right place to be
asking them.
Instead, go to:

Click on the link labelled "The Java Tutorial" (It's
over on the left hand column under "Spotlight"). Start
with "Your First Cup of Java". Continue on from there.
