Servlet Interest is the list for beginners but you shouldn't ask
obvious questions there either really because they've all been
answered before.
My advice to beginners is always:
- use the archives of Servlet-Interest
I've been on the list for a long time (since '96 I think) and I've
answered most questions there. There are many other people like me who
have done the same. That means that every questions has probably been
answered 5 or 6 times.
- use the books and other resources
- think about your question and what it is you're trying to find out?
would it be the sort of thing that other people might be stuck on? is
it the sort of thing that can't easily be answered by searching the
archives?
If you have code that doesn't work and you don't know why the best
thing to do is to post an edited form of the code on the Servlet
Interest list and let people pick holes. People quite like picking
holes in code so you'll always find someone here who'll help!
In general if you post something to Servlet-Interest showin that
you've done some research but didn't find the answer to your problem
or didn't understand the answer then no one will object.
Happy hacking!
Nic
